Our Story

2022 /2023 Season

South Bristol Girls formed in July 2022 with girls from five Bristol clubs
Running one team at U12s level with circa 18 girls
Training and playing at various Bristol clubs throughout the season
A brilliant first season with the girls coming together and winning all but one match

Over 60 girls and a new U16 team to celebrate our 3rd season
Our 16s grow from single digit numbers to over 20 by season end
The 14s come 3rd in the Gloucestershire League out of 16 teams
We are one of 15 UK wide clubs acknowledged by Honda and The Telegraph for developing girls rugby
Selected to be part of the RFU Impact 25 program to enhance girls rugby in the run up to the Womens World Cup,

Our first season without a new team but numbers grow to over 80 girls actively playing across our U12s, U14s and U16s
Our 16s in just their 2nd season finish 2nd in the Gloucestershire League out of 18 teams, only losing to one team
They also win the Gloucestershire County Cup
11 of our girls are selected to be part of the RFU England Player Development Groups in Gloucestershire & Somerset
Our 12s and 14s also have very successful seasons, growing numbers and finishing the seasons with winning records.

For the first time the club runs teams at all girls age levels, with a new U18s team forming
Over 80 girls are registered to the club with numbers growing steadily
Due to our growth the club needs to relocate to a bigger home, so a move is made to Old Redcliffians RDC in Brislington.
And results.....the season is just underway
